Fayetteville State University and NCGrowth Create Economic Resilience

February 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

At this panel discussion, participants will learn about how Fayetteville State University is leveraging over $175 million of state appropriations to build economic resilience in the broader Cumberland County Region. FSU is a partner of NCGrowth’s AICER (Anchor Institutions Create Economic Resilience) program, which helps universities increase their purchasing from businesses that are local, rural, Black-owned, Native-owned, Latinx-owned, or otherwise historically underutilized. FSU understands and embraces the transformational impact they have on their region through purchasing with purpose and is committed to creating a more equitable and sustainable economy in the long term. As part of this commitment, FSU recently opened the Fayetteville-Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business Hub, a space where community members can access business resources, trainings, and direct technical assistance.
