Offering a Graduate Certificate in Rural Pharmacy Health as a Strategy in Addressing Healthcare Workforce Development

The presentation will focus on the Rural Pharmacy Health Certificate program which has been uniquely offered on the Asheville campus of UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy since 2014. The program requires that Rural Scholars have long-term relationships with pharmacists serving rural communities for shadowing and educational experiences. This is in addition to a robust didactic curriculum with topics that include cultural responsiveness, population health, interprofessional care, rural health and health disparity.
