Dialogues Across Divides
February 24 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Dialogue is an essential tool to foster cohesive communities. Different from debate, which seeks to convince, and negotiation, which seeks to win, dialogue is a process of understanding. In polarized America, communities have become more divided due to a lack of genuine listening, but dialogue can strengthen communities and foster cultures of local peace. When we stop focusing on what we want to say or how we differ, and start focusing on the experiences of another, we can see the world in new ways. This workshop will be run by several Rotary Peace Fellows and aims to bring people together to share stories of belonging, strengthen our capacity to listen and deepen community cohesion.
