February 26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Innovate Carolina is working with community partners at the Burke County Health Department to generate and test innovative ideas for a “street medicine” model to improve the healthcare of people experiencing homelessness. This session will include Innovate Carolina experts in human centered design as well as academic and community-based practitioners who are working alongside people experiencing homelessness to co-create this public health intervention. During this workshop participants will learn the basics of IDEO’s design thinking model and work in small groups to practice rapid prototyping techniques that communities can use to generate fast, low-risk ideas that develop into desirable, viable and feasible solutions. These techniques will have value to students, faculty or staff interested in engaging communities to create human centered ventures, products or policies.
